Colombia Has Earned Its Trade Pact

"If Colombia were an insular, isolated, parochial state, it might have concluded that fighting terror outside its borders was not in its own best interests. But this state has shown it is not only willing but able to do its part in the global war on terror. The one small benefit it wants from us is Congress' passage of a free trade pact. Democrats are resisting it on scurrilous human rights and protectionist grounds. But isn't what Colombia has done for us enough? "
