"Finding peace in Iraq is much more likely if American troops leave. Most Iraqi violence can be traced to two causes: an insurgency whose goal it is to push the United States out of Iraq and a civil war between Shiites and Sunnis. Were the United States to withdraw, the insurgency would collapse. And the Shiites and Sunnis won't ever recognize that they must deal with each other until American troops leave and they have no other option."
